In the Spring, we honored Dr. @mwaynik and inducted Rabbi Evan Ravski into the @ezraacademyct Alumni Hall of Fame. This year's Gala theme was a 'Japanese Garden: Planting Seeds of Growth'. To Zoom or not to Zoom? Celebrating milestones is challenging these days. But it’s a must, especially for kids, and can be done in a safe and thoughtful way. We Zoomed and livestreamed this modest Bar Mitzvah gathering to celebrate the family’s special occasion. Small touches of decor took their cues from the beautiful logo designed by the Bar Mitzvah boy himself. The sunset hues he picked married perfectly with the Fall feel we were going for. This past Saturday #westportcountryplayhouse and the Remarkable Drive-In Theater collaborated on an out-of-the-box fundraising event. We produced a gala celebrating 90 years of the Playhouse, while at the same time making sure guests felt safe and satisfied. Strict COVID safety protocols were in place: guests were pre-screened online and when they checked in. Every other spot was utilized for parking, and pods were socially distanced but could still see each other and interact from afar. They brought their own picnic dinners, enjoyed pre-sealed, packaged gourmet treats, branded sanitizers, masks and other goodies. Some of them even brought their pets! As the sun set, all were cuddling in their blankets, watching from their cars, and honking in lieu of clapping after every performance. A good, safe time was had by all! Last Saturday we had the honor and pleasure of bringing the annual @wcplayhouse gala to life! This year's theme was “Black & White Ball: A De-Lovely Evening”, featuring the music of Cole Porter and an intimate performance by Tony Award winning Broadway star @kelliohara and radio personality @sethrudetsky. The gala also included a cocktail hour complete with a radiant chanteuse, a delectable dinner, live and silent auctions, and a lively after-party with dancing and music by Cutting Edge Dueling Pianos.
